Real estate is actually my second career. For 15 years I lived and worked in Washington, DC as a lobbyist for a variety of non-profit organizations. By the time I left, I was the executive director of a national, anti-poverty organization called the Coalition on Human Needs. The work was very rewarding, quite challenging and personally fulfilling. However, after 15 years of a successful career I decided it was time for a change of scenery. I didn't want just a new job, I wanted to do something entirely new.

After moving to Austin, I spent two or three months speaking with people, doing some soul searching and pondering my options. Real estate had always been an interest of mine, ever since I purchased my first house in Virginia. I enjoy working with people and have a strong ethical side, key traits for being in the real estate business.

Lobbying members of Congress, Senators and their staff, I quickly recognized the importance of thorough preparation, attention to detail, and strong advocacy skills. Honesty and integrity was key to developing a good reputation. As a Realtor, I have quickly come to appreciate the experience I gained in Washington and have seen ample opportunities to apply those skills to my career in real estate.

Another important aspect about myself is my comfort level with technology. A successful Realtor must be up to speed on the latest in technologies. For instance, I use a laptop with wireless capabilities, allowing me to check listings when I am showing homes to a client. I strongly recommend working with a Realtor who uses every tool at his or her disposal on your behalf.

Buying or selling a home can be a trying experience. It is my job to make the process as smooth as possible for you. I am very excited about my career as a Realtor. I hope that I have the opportunity to share that excitement with you. I also hope that we can have fun working together. I fully appreciate the seriousness of buying or selling a home, especially when I am negotiating on your behalf, but I also believe in the importance of embracing the lighter side of life and having some fun in the process!
